The purpose of a DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid) paternity test is to determine whether someone is the genetic parent of a child. We all inherit our DNA from our biological parents, half from our mother and half from our father. A DNA paternity test compares a child’s DNA pattern with that of the assumed genetic parent or parents to determine if there is a match. Besides paternity testing, there are numerous options for family relationships testing, e.g., sibling to sibling. Your DNA samples are securely sent to our partner laboratory; DNA Diagnostic Center (DDC) located in the USA. DDC is a well-recognized and accredited laboratory to perform paternity testing. Below describes the process for DNA paternity testing in SLS.

*Appointments are made only on weekdays from Monday’s – Friday’s between 13:00- 15:00 only in
the afternoons, with a maximum of 3 appointments per day.
Step 2.
Visit the SLS laboratory located in Cay Hill.
What do you need to bring on the day of the appointment?
– A picture (ID Card, Passport or Driving License) of the father /
– A picture (ID Card, Passport or Driving License) of the child or birth certificate (only If the
picture and the identification is a baby picture and the child is older) 1 passport picture. / Child does not have a valid ID
How much does the test cost?
The total price is $415.00 or ANG 738.70 per child
How does the procedure go?
On the day of the appointment, a swab is taken from the inside of the mouth (Left and Right side of the cheek) of the father and of the child. A DNA form will be filled in by the person that is performing the test and must be signed and stamped. The mother or guardian (or the father, if only him is present) of the child and the father must sign the DNA form. Children 18 and older can sign for themselves. Both swabs, along with the DNA paternity form will be sent to DNA Center in the USA.
How long does it take to get back results?
It takes 10 working days for SLS to receive the results. Once the results are received, SLS will notify (call) you to pick up the results. When collecting results, please provide a picture ID, receipt given the day of test and authorization form given on the day of the appointment.
